If it makes you feel any better, I got bitten by a horsefly on my ass one day. It itched like hell for three days, and it was right where if I sat on it, it would itch, and I couldn't scratch it unless I ran to the bathroom. OMG the torture!

I was at a friend's house; she has a pool, so Erik and I thought it'd be good for the kids to go swimming a little while, and we all had a little cookout. She lives basically down the road from a cow pasture (you can't smell anything, though), and so that's where the flies come from. I was swimming with the kids, and I had to get out of the pool to get something, so while I was standing there drying myself off a bit, I felt a sharp prick on my ass, and I put my hand on the spot to feel what it was; a horsefly flew away. Stupid flies. TAT And the thing is, she has one of those big citronella candles (I hate the smell), and they don't work on horseflies.

It's like a practise expedition fer my ACTUAL D of E expedition! We spent 3 days walking in Yorkshire travelling from campsite to campsite over a planned route.

To answer yer random questions:
* I wouldn't say I was, to be honest. I'm quite shy, but I'm not too cowardly!
* Hot weather, I would say. Does that count?
* Of course! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch Saw (which actually got me used to the sight of blood in the first place!
